Meet the owner

Hello! I’m Brittany, the owner of Petal and Fern Floral Design. I often get the question “How did you get started in floral design?” And I usually start my answer with “By complete accident!”

It all started when my friend was getting married DIY style. They planned on doing their own flowers, but quickly got overwhelmed with everything else they had to do. I have an extensive background in art and design and have often been described as “the artsy friend”, so I stepped in to help. I had NO idea what I was doing, and was looking up YouTube videos! Meanwhile, I’m thinking to myself that I loved working with flowers. Just a few weeks later, another friend was getting married and things with her florist fell through, so I stepped in again. This second time doing wedding flowers, I had one of those moments where I thought to myself, “I feel like I was made for this!”

Fast forward a few years later, and I’m doing what I love with a great team nearly every weekend, creating dreamy florals for the best clients in the world (maybe I’m biased, I just LOVE my couples!) at gorgeous venues all over western North Carolina and Southern California.

Petal and Fern was founded on a “can do” attitude, creativity, and taking immense pride in the quality of our work. Our team is talented, passionate, and capable. We absolutely love what we do and we aren’t slowing down anytime soon!
